Daryl Rose
Creative Director
Daryl joined the Firstbase team with over 20 years of experience running his own graphic design business and has the vision to lead the creative side of Firstbase in a bold new direction.
Daryl began his design career while still in high school by working with his dad who was a prominent Vancouver public relations professional. After graduating from Capilano College’s three-year graphic design program, Daryl found work quickly at a busy downtown Vancouver design studio. Starting at the bottom as “paste-up” boy, Daryl learned the ins-and-outs of pre-press production prior to computers taking over the design industry.
In 1990 Daryl bought his first Macintosh computer and started his own design company. He built up a steady client base that included his dad’s PR firm and many of its clients. Early in his career Daryl was involved in designing marketing material for some of the Lower Mainland’s biggest real estate developers, including ParkLane Homes and Intergulf Development Group.
With a move to the Fraser Valley in the 1990s, Daryl started to focus on a more local client base that included the University of the Fraser Valley, Tourism Chilliwack, and the Van Maren Group, as well as some of the valley’s largest manufacturing firms including TYCROP Manufacturing, Visscher Lumber, Westeck Windows, and Murphy Aircraft.
Daryl continued his association with the Vancouver real estate industry by working closely with Vancouver’s largest real estate marketing firm Rennie Marketing Systems. Through Rennie, Daryl was involved with branding and advertising design for some of Vancouver’s most prominent projects and developers including Millennium, Wall, Westbank, PCI, and Aquilini.
Daryl loves what he does and is proud to bring his skills and experience to Firstbase.
He lives in Chilliwack with his wife (and childhood sweetheart) Anne, kids, cats, and dog.
