Rick Badger
Business Development
Rick started his career in various planning positions with the City of Edmonton, Alberta Environment and Alberta Housing Corp. as Manager, Program Planning. In 1985, he started his own consulting firm and co-started an automotive chemicals company.
Rick has provided business advisory services to over 100 Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan companies in the oil/gas, oilfield services, engineering, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. The advisory services included corporate planning, business continuity planning, organization analysis, training and recruitment.
In 1994, Rick switched his career focus to international business development, taking numerous courses on “How to do Business Internationally”. Rick specialized in international business and marketing plans, international financing and international business grants. Rick has raised millions of dollars in equity and debt financing for his clients for their local and international operations.
In 2002, Rick was sponsored as a seminar speaker at the APEC SME Conference in Acapulco by BancoMex; a major Mexican bank. He has presented “International Financing Options” at various Chamber of Commerce events in several cities in Mexico.
Rick has coordinated clients’ projects in over 37 countries, including USA, Mexico Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Russia, Kazakhstan and China.
From 2003-2006, Rick initiated the International Business Division for a $2.5 Billion/yr. energy services company. Rick’s responsibilities included identifying international business opportunities, coordinating the legal and accounting professionals and negotiating Joint Venture Agreements. Rick has coordinated closely with Trade Commissioners and Canadian Ambassadors for his clients’ projects in specific countries.
Rick is the proud father of a young entrepreneur daughter and enjoys golf and racquetball.
